Goals

• Protect artists from theft and generative AI. We want to have multiple defenses against stealing art in mass for building AI models or other reasons. We also want to ensure media generated by AI is not prioritized as equal to art made by people.

• No vendor lock-in. You own your website and data.

• Self-host. You can run your own web server to host your own website. Alternatively, you can use a static web host provider.

• Open and transparent. The software is open source, which means that anyone can see the code that runs it. You can also copy, run, and distribute the code yourself. See our Open Source License for details.

• Post Timeline/Feed. Much like most social-media, you can post your work to your timeline/feed which will show your work to people who follow you. Your feed can be viewed on the web or an RSS feed reader.

• Art Portfolio. You should be able to select some of your work and create a page to serve as your art portfolio.

• Link / Profile Page. You should be able to create a profile page that links to all the other tools and platforms connected to you.

Current Non-Goals

These items may become side-quests or goals later, but are currently not a focus.

• Glaze / Nightshade (AI Poisoning). Unfortunately, these projects are not open source and take a huge amount of resources to run. It is important to note that these tools are not perfect and do not fully protect your artwork. The article Glaze and the Effectiveness of Anti-AI Methods for Diffusion Models (Parsee Mizuhashi 2024) shows that these tools can be bypassed using tools like deglazer. We believe in using multiple methods of defense, not just one. You can use Glaze / Nightshade on work before you post in this platform for an extra layer of defense.
